Walk together, walk right.
The terms for using Walk Good.
Plain terms for a simple app. Read what we do with your data alongside this — together they're the whole deal.
Who can use Walk Good
- Minimum age
- You must be 13 or older to create a Walk Good account. You confirm this before you can sign in. Optional cultural research needs a separate confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email address secure — you're responsible for anything done through your account, and for telling us if you think someone else has access to it.
- One person, one account
- Your account is for you. Don't create it on someone else's behalf, sell it, or use someone else's steps to move your journey.
Zero tolerance
Walk Good has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour of any kind. This is not a guideline we hope people follow — it's a condition of using the app.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeting another person or group.
- No sexual content, no content that exploits or endangers anyone, and nothing illegal.
- No impersonation, no spam, and no using Walk Good to organise or promote any of the above.
- No cheating the step count, the App Attest device check, or a Group's results.
Break this and we remove the content, and can suspend or permanently close your account, without a refund of anything you've paid.
Groups, names and content
- Your display name, Personal Mark and any Group or Walk name you set must not be abusive, impersonate another person, or breach the rules above. We can rename or remove any of these without notice.
- Anyone in a Group can create an invitation to it; the person who sent an invite, or the Group's owner, can switch it off at any time.
- What you post or say inside a Group is your own conduct and your responsibility. We're not able to review everything before it's seen by other members, but we do act on what's reported to us.
- Closing a Group you own removes it for every member. Leaving a Group you don't own keeps your personal journey and Cultural Cards intact.
Reports, removal and suspension
- Report a member — from a Group, report someone for harassment, an inappropriate name, spam or another reason. We review every report within 24 hours.
- Block a member — stops them affecting you further inside that Group, straight away, without waiting on our review.
- What we can do — remove a name, a Group, or any other content, and suspend or delete an account, whenever we reasonably believe these terms have been broken. We can do this without warning if the behaviour is severe.
- Urgent issues — email support@walkgood.app and we'll treat it as a priority.
Your walks and your health data
Walk Good reads your daily step count from Apple Health, with your permission, to move your journey forward. It never reads any other health record and never writes anything back to Apple Health. Full detail on what we read, keep and never do lives on the privacy page — it applies alongside these terms.
Walk Good's country journeys, trails and Cultural Cards are a way to turn your everyday steps into a story — they are not navigation, mapping or route-planning advice, and Walk Good does not know where you actually are. Walk in the real world safely, follow local guidance and the law, and use your own judgement about where and when it's safe to walk.
No warranty
Walk Good is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Walk Good and Troy Samuels are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits any liability that can't lawfully be limited, such as for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Apple's terms
If you downloaded Walk Good from the App Store, Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement also applies alongside these terms: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where the two disagree on the licence to use the app, Apple's EULA governs. Apple is not responsible for Walk Good, its content, or these terms — direct any questions about the app itself to us, not Apple.
Changes and contact
Walk Good is made by Troy Samuels. Postal contact: Apartment 5 Tennant Street Lofts, 98 Tennant Street, Birmingham, B15 1BS, United Kingdom. Questions or complaints: support@walkgood.app. We answer within seven days. If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the app tells you; continuing to use Walk Good after that means you accept the new terms.
